Paid Volunteer, Befriender & Companion

We are seeking Paid Volunteer, Befrienders & Companions who live in the Swansea area of West Glamorgan. We are looking for people who live between the SA1 - SA7 areas. Full training is provided, but it is essential that you are a car driver with access to your own car. Pay rates, hours & benefits £8.21 per hour weekdays, £8.50 per hour weekends & double time on bank holidays. 25p per mile travel time. GUARANTEED hours or part-time zero-hour contracts available. Paid holidays & pension scheme. Staff referral scheme & staff discount scheme. Who would I be working for? We are advertising on behalf of an award-winning provider who focus on a bespoke companionship led care service. They have also been voted as a 5-star employer. They have won multiple awards over the years and have built an excellent reputation within communities across the UK. This exceptional service is different to any other care organisation in the area, providing a minimum of 1-hour home visits to a purely private client base, but the focus being on companionship. The Director started the service following a bad experience of finding quality care for his Grandfather who lived with Dementia. His experience led him to understand that so much more could be done to help some of the most vulnerable people in the local community. What would I be doing? By becoming a Paid Volunteer, Befriender & Companion you will be helping older adults in your local community not only combat loneliness but also help them stay independent. You will be carefully matched to an older adult in your local area needing companionship and support. You will always see the same clients each week to help build relationships. Everyone’s needs differ, some of our clients are more independent than others, so the role could vary from helping them to get up, get washed & dressed, have breakfast to preparing a meal or taking them out for the day.
