Overview
A market leading specialist vehicle manufacturer in West Sussex is seeking to appoint a Production Team Leader to manage their in-house multi-skilled team. This is a pivotal role which requires a close working relationship with the Production Manager, Project Managers, Manufacturing Engineers and the Procurement team in order to facilitate the successful delivery of products on time, on budget and that satisfy project criteria. Projects run simultaneously and include both prototype and production builds, with a high level of customisation between individual products. This will involve collaborations across departments (including Engineering Design, Fabrication Workshop, Purchasing, and QHSE) and building successful working relationships with Design Engineers, Workshop Team Leaders, Supply Chain Manager, and external suppliers. In addition, this role will involve: Manage relationships between key internal stakeholders Check Bill of Materials (BOM) for production and issue to Purchasing Department Meet production timescales, schedules and budget requirements Establish KPIs and report metrics Lead and develop individuals including coaching and mentoring Applications are invited from experienced Production Team Leaders as well as Production Controllers, Production Supervisors and Production Technicians who are looking to make the step up. Candidates must have previous experience of working in a low-medium volume production / manufacturing environment, preferably automotive or aerospace, although other sectors such as special purpose equipment will be considered. Previous use of MRP systems and project management software tools such as SAP are both highly desirable but not essential. Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role. Equally as important is the ability to lead and work well in a team. This role will involve occasional domestic and overseas travel so a driving licence and passport are desirable. More information is available upon application.
