Overview
SF Recruitment are currently recruiting an experienced Financial Controller to join an organisation based in Berkshire on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be looking after the accounts for 4 separate entities within the organisation, so multi site accounting would be an advantage, aswell as occasional travel required. This is a wide ranging role where alongside the monthly production of management accounts you will business partner for all entities associated with the organisation. You will play a leading role in budget monitoring and identifying training needs for non finance staff to assist and improve financial understanding. Further Duties of the role include: - Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly accounts for all entities, including detailed variance analysis and written commentary. - Preparing monthly performance schedules for entity Finance Business Partners (FBP's). - Maintain fixed asset register and monitor capital expenditure to budget/project. - Review of balance sheet reconciliations ensuring all reconciling items are cleared out each month where required. - Manage banking relationships and cash functions for all entities. - Maintain a good working relationship with Cognita central finance team and 3rd party providers. - Responsibility for managing AP team and AP ledgers, including processing of employee expenses. - Monitor monthly cash flow and prepare accurate rolling cash forecasts for all entities. - Ensure VAT compliance, reconciliation and settlement with HMRC. - Ensure robust financial controls are in place and being adhered to, particularly around purchasing and capital expenditure. - Ensure compliance with the Group Expenses and Purchasing policies. - Manage payroll function ensuring information is passed over to outsourced providers accurately and on time. - Ensure all payments to pension providers and HMRC are reconciled monthly and settled on time. - Involvement in the annual budgets and monthly P&L forecasting - lead by FBP's. - Provide support to the Group Finance Director with financial evaluations of prospective new investment opportunities within the Group. - Support Group Finance with year-end audit packs, tax packs and statutory accounts. - Managing Finance team of 4 reports including Financial Accountant, and 3 x Accounts Assistants. - Finance lead for projects such as system implementation, PO process introduction, and process efficiency. - Other ad hoc duties. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant, looking for a step up, or a first time mover from practice, with a strong attitude to improving / streamlining processes.
