Overview
A successful manufacturing business require a Senior Buyer. Applicants should be part of fully CIPS qualified with purchasing experience within a manufacturing business. The role entails both operational and strategic procurement, alongside inventory and logistics control. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for providing an effective procurement service to the business, and satisfying customer requirements. Working within an SME environment, this will encompass; purchasing, supplier management and logistics. Specific duties of the Senior Buyer include: Procurement of raw materials, components, and finished goods Driving improved performance from the supply chain in terms of cost and delivery dates Negotiation and vendor management Inventory management and inventory control Management of logistics partners to ensure cost effective importation of products from overseas Work closely with quality to drive supplier development and supplier quality assurance activities Maintenance of procurement and supplier data within the company MRP/ERP system Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria: Purchasing experience within a manufacturing business Comfortable operating as a Senior Buyer within an SME environment working closely with Operations, Production and Quality Knowledge of the logistical and shipping issues entailed with global supply chains Part of full CIPS qualification MRP/ERP literate The desire for a progressive career within procurement, as a Purchasing Manager or Supply Chain Manager Barclay Meade acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers and is part of Gattaca Plc.
