Overview
Engineering Manager (Java), London (Kings Cross), £100,000 - £120,000 10 % Bonus, eCommerce. A well known eCommerce Organisation based in a prime London location are looking for a new Engineering Manager to join the team and help with critical improvements and greenfield projects. This is a senior role heading up a department that is absolutely critical to the success of the business, the technical team is a team of around 40 in a company of around 300. Work is a mixture of small business-as-usual changes, small-to-medium sized projects and large development/re-engineering/acquisition projects. The successful candidate will have extremely strong leadership skills and be able to inspire team members to consistently work at their best. You will have proven ability to create architectures and develop technical roadmaps in support of business strategy. Ideally you will have experience in a technical lead position and will be looking to continue to maintain a hands on approach. Technical Environment: Java, Spring, React, Angular, Jenkins, AWS pipeline, TDD, BDD. Skills and technologies required as the Engineering Manager: Experience of managing multiple teams (small departments) – Leadership, mentoring and line management Hands on Experience with Java, Spring, Maven, Hibernate, Oracle, AWS Good front-end experience – HTML, CSS including major framework React, Angular Deep experience of CI / CD (Jenkins, AWS pipeline) and version control workflow (Git) Thorough understanding of Code Quality: Automation, Mocking, TDD, BDD, SOLID principles, etc. Good E-Commerce experience Very good agile experience This is a great opportunity for an experienced Technical Lead to join a well known brand who are currently at early stages of a digital transformation.
