HCA Healthcare UK currently encompasses the following facilities, but is not limited to: The Harley Street Clinic The Wellington Hospital Job Description We are looking for Physiotherapists to join our Bank for the Wellington Hospital and Harley Street Hospital to cover weekend shifts. To carry out accurate physiotherapy assessment, clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients with diverse clinical presentations and complex physical and psychological needs in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team on the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at The Wellington Hospital. To provide clinical supervision and facilitate the learning and development of staff members and therapy assistants on the rehabilitation unit. To be responsible for the daily routine on allocated wards in conjunction with interdisciplinary team members and ensure physiotherapy responsibilities are met. To work as an effective member of the physiotherapy and interdisciplinary team To provide advice, guidance and information to health care professionals, carers, relatives and other non professionals in the management of patients To participate in weekday and weekend emergency on call and problem solver rotas. To support the physiotherapy service working flexibly across the working week. To be actively involved in supervision, education, evidence based practice and audit projects within the HCA group for the development of the physiotherapy service, therapy services and own personal and professional clinical practice. To assist in identifying opportunities to improve the Physiotherapy service in order to provide the best patient care within the resources available To undertake other duties at the request of the Lead or AHP Clinical Services Manager Duties & Responsibilities Duties will be as follows, but not limited to: To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of patients in your care. To undertake comprehensive assessments of patients, including those with diverse or complex presentations using appropriate clinical reasoning skills, observation skills and manual assessment skills to provide an accurate physiotherapy diagnosis and demonstrate an understanding of the conditions To formulate and implement individual physiotherapy treatment programs based on comprehensive knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, appropriate and accurate clinical reasoning, and knowledge of appropriate treatment techniques. To provide physiotherapy intervention where there may be barriers to understanding such as foreign language or due to speech/hearing/visual impairment, cognitive/perceptual difficulties To assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid informed consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment To utilise handling techniques which require skill, precision and sensory coordination to provide accurate and effective treatment and feedback To evaluate patient progress, reassess and progress or alter patient treatment programs within the specified timeframes compliant with HCA care pathways. To develop and implement comprehensive discharge plans in conjunction with other interdisciplinary team members and the discharge coordinator To work closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure that patient centered goals are set and that the outcome of intervention is monitored. Skills & Experience Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent Health and Care Professions Council Physiotherapy registration Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapists or equivalent is desirable Member of professional interest group is desirable
