Overview
Due to the promotion of the long serving and much-celebrated Manager, our Birmingham based Nursing Home client requires a Registered Manager with experience of running mid-sized (30 beds) nursing and/ or dementia residential care services for the elderly. Duties and responsibilities to include: To be responsible to the registered provider for the day-to-day running of the home To be accountable for the home's operations and activities, achieving the best possible outcomes for its service users, ensuring that the home operates according to its registration status and conditions and complies with all legal requirements and CQC standards. To manage the home, keeping service users safe and well protected, adhering to safeguarding procedures at all times. To develop, promote and maintain high standards of care and best practice; developing, implementing and maintaining the systems and structures needed to run the home in the interests of its service users. To develop and manage effectively and efficiently the financial, human and material resources needed by the home, ensuring the home remains financially viable. To be an ambassador for the home, promoting and marketing its services. To ensure that all staff are informed about and work to the Codes of Practice for social care and are suitably inducted, trained in accordance with statutory requirements and standards. The past two CQC inspections have been Good in all areas, so this home requires a candidate with experience of delivering services to that standard or above. The service is oversubscribed with a mix of NHS and top-up users. Successful candidates will therefore have previously taken a similar sized home through a successful CQC inspection at Good or Outstanding. Candidates must possess a nursing qualification and ideally have NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management, although there is no substitute for experience, so that will always be taken into account. Candidates must have experience of Dementia or Mental Health service settings to be considered for this role.
