Social Worker (Children's Services) Permanent , Bedford, Bedfordshire, MK42 9AP £32,878 - £42,683 depending on experience Plus up to £6,000 welcome payment, flexible working opportunities and up to £6,000 supplement on top of salary with a retention Bonus of £2,000 after four years' service Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for an opportunity to make a difference to children's lives in the Bedfordshire area? Social Workers are encouraged to work creatively with children to ensure the best possible service and support is provided to the child. Roles available We currently have a number permanent opportunities for Social Workers to join a number of teams, including: Leaving & After Care Team Family Support Team Permanency Team Assessment Team As a Social Worker you will build effective relationships with children, young people and their families/carers to help elicit their needs and promote participation in decision making. You will need to undertake assessments, as well as plan, implement and review a range of interventions for children, young people and families/carers. You will also maintain accurate, up to date records safely and confidentially in accordance with Bedford Council's policies and procedures. What will you need? A degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification Successful completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) or the Children's Workforce Development Council's Newly Qualified Social Worker programme Experience relevant to the team you're applying for Registration with the Social Work England formerly known as HCPC It is also important that you feel comfortable and confident working independently and managing your workload.
