Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a MRI Clinical specialist Radiographer (Band 7) to join our Radiology department, based at our main hospital in Central London, W1G 6BW (close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations). The London Clinic is one of the UK’s largest independently owned non-profit hospital, where we pride ourselves on our values, and putting the patient at the heart of everything we do. Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 234 beds and 10 theatres, and has a state-of-the-art imaging department providing imaging services which range from general radiology through to complex interventional procedures. We have a dedicated breast imaging suite as well as our modern nuclear medicine department. This is in addition to our busy CT, MR and Ultrasound disciplines which are sited across the main building and satellite areas of The London Clinic campus. Our MRI equipment includes; 3T Siemens Vida, 1.5T Siemens Avanto, 1.5T Siemens Espree (outpatient setting), and some specialised scans include Spectroscopy, Perfusion imaging, Primovist Livers, MRI proctogram, Whole body diffusion and Small Bowel MRI amongst others. Our 3T MRI suite is a world class facility, it compromises of full preparation and recovery suite, cannulation room and spacious change rooms for our patients. Job Description As a MRI Clinical Specialist Radiographer, you will support the MRI Superintendent to assist in the provision of an efficient MRI scanning service of the highest standard. Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts: 7.5hrs shifts; Monday - Friday (7:30am - 8pm), as well as on call, and flexible with overtime; Saturday and Sunday (9am - 5pm). Salary: The attractive salary range for this role is £43,222 - £51,927 (Inclusive of London Weighting), and will be dependent upon skills and experience. Duties & Responsibilities Competent with the technical and clinical aspects of MRI and maintain full safety standards in MRI. Utilise department protocols and set standards to continually undertake MRI procedures of the highest quality Training and professional development of radiographer staff, as required. Participate in audit within clinical radiology including the use of audit tools in order to deliver service improvement initiatives. Participate in implementation of new technology and service developments. Skills & Experience HCPC registered with a DCR or BSc in Radiography or equivalent. Post qualification experience in MRI scanning, to include recent experience in 1.5 and 3T MRI. Previous experience of reviewing and standardising protocols. Proven track record of successfully training MRI radiographers in new scanning protocols. Good knowledge of current trends and developments in MRI equipment, techniques and advancements. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication, organisational and problem solving skills with a patient and service focused approach and strong clinical decision making skills.
