Overview
My client solves some of the world’s most complex problems, through knowledge engineering. They have invented their own knowledge base and their own query language. Their technology helps organisations across various industries, including Life Sciences, Defence & Security, Financial Services and Robotics, to build intelligent systems that they believe will change the world. From drug discovery, cyber threat, to robotics disasters, their technology and query language helps people all around the work and its clear their product is unbelievable by recently being awarded Product of the Year by the University of Cambridge. Their main (back-end) development language is Java, but they also provide their database client drivers in Python and Node.js as well, and they intended to support the top 10 languages. They are looking to hire a candidate with: 5 years of programming experience (working in the commercial sector), with a strong Java background and distributed systems (Cassanda, Akka, Kafka, Spark, GRPC) Solid programming experience in OOP languages Proven experience in back-end systems with multithreading and parallel programming Proven experience in distributed systems and cloud environments Proven experience in build and release (CI/CD) engineering Bonus: Programming or Query Languages Knowledge Representation Systems Automated reasoning Formal Logic They are seeking candidates of this nature who have graduated from the top 10 universities in the UK (or across the globe), who are mathematically minded who can solve hardcore algorithms. As a business they are super driven and have a strong sense of purpose and all share the same vision.
