Contract type: Permanent. Full time. Polam Hall School wishes to appoint an enthusiastic full time Maths Teacher and Assistant Head of the STEM Faculty to commence in September 2020. The role: We seek an experienced full time Maths teacher who is passionate about the subject and has high expectations of all students and staff, to take on the exciting role of Assistant Head of the STEM Faculty and lead Maths teaching in our school. The role would suit someone looking for their first experience of school leadership as you would be ably supported by our Head of STEM and the wider faculty. We can offer the successful candidate access to a fully funded NPQML qualification. The Assistant Head of STEM is the lead teacher of Maths. Applications are welcomed from excellent classroom practitioners who believe that every student can be a mathematician and have a keen interest in developing pedagogical practice. Our STEM faculty are an ambitious, forward looking and positive team who aim to provide the best STEM education for all of our students and to create the scientists and mathematicians of the future. We have had significant improvement in outcomes for students in both Science and Maths in recent years and are looking to build upon this success. As we are an all-through school the role also provides the opportunity to work closely with our Primary Maths Lead to deliver excellent progression in Mathematics and numeracy across the phases. The successful candidate will teach Maths at KS3 and to GCSE. At KS3 we use the Mathematics Mastery curriculum, while we offer Pearson Edexcel specifications at GCSE. We are also looking for a colleague who can make a contribution to the wider life of the school, through extra-curricular clubs, trips and visits. Our School: Polam Hall School is a 4 – 16 all-through academy and is part of Woodard Academies Trust. We have 750 pupils on roll, with two forms of entry in our Primary Phase and three forms in our Secondary Phase.
