Overview
Prospectus is very proud to be working in partnership with Redthread for a Team Leader for their Youth Violence Intervention Programme based in Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham. Redthread is a youth charity that supports young people to live happy, safe and healthy lives. As Redthread's new Team Leader, you will oversee Redthread's hospital-based violence intervention service, providing frontline support to young people admitted to hospital as a result of injury, trauma or tragedy. You will be responsible for managing two youth intervention practitioners and a programme co-ordinator, creating a positive, supportive and collaborative team environment. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will be responsible for managing a small caseload, working together with the practitioners on the team on any cases that offer more complexities, and where appropriate, escalating any safeguarding matters to protect the young people as much as possible. You will work closely with the hospital and other relevant external parties to ensure collaboration and the most effective outcomes for all young people using Redthread's service. This role offers a challenging but wholly fulfilling opportunity to oversee a service providing frontline support to vulnerable young-people involved in situations of trauma, injury and/or exploitation. To apply for this role you will need to have a relevant degree and have significant experience of working with young vulnerable people with a range of complex needs (particularly those impacted by violence, trauma or tragedy). You will have extensive experience of leading, managing, supporting and motivating teams providing frontline services, and of developing and maintain excellent relationships with a range of partner organisations. Overall you will be a calm, resilient leader, passionate about ensuring effective services for a range of vulnerable young people. Please initially apply with a Word version of your CV - suitable candidates will then be contacted by Prospectus and will be asked to complete a supporting statement. Please note, this is a full-time position (37.5 hours a week) with regular evening and weekend work required to ensure coverage across the team. The position is available to start immediately for the successful applicant or once your current notice has been completed. This is a permanent position and will be subject to rights to work checks, appropriate references being received and an enhanced DBS check.
