Infrastructure Operations Engineer - Poweshell/ Windows £60,000 Plus benefits Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Lead Automation Engineer to join or well known Fintech50 client who produces software disrupting the wealth management market. Currently they stand at 300 in the UK with almost 3000 clients. The firm runs a modern infrastructure with the latest windows versions and sits on AWS, so if you want to play around you will be encouraged. The CEO has an open desk and works closely with every team member. I am looking for an experienced Engineer with extensive automation experience and a background in technical leadership to join an operations team. You will help build a new devops function alongside operations engineers, developers and other stakeholders. The Engineer will work on the continuous delivery pipeline automating the delivery of infrastructure components, such as the OS build, user provisioning, OS upgrades. The Engineer will be the technical authority for all company IT infrastructure with a focus on automation of hosting platforms in multiple datacentres and cloud locations. This will include technical leadership and the design, delivery and operation of highly available, scalable, secure and resilient enterprise infrastructure solutions using physical and virtualised systems, cloud platforms and integrations with suppliers and customers as required. Day to Day the Lead Automation Engineer will be part of some of: Operate, design, implement, document and manage computing, network and storage infrastructure that meets the requirements of the business from a security, performance and availability perspective Technical Authority for all Infrastructure services in the company. Design, delivery, automation, operations and management of platform servers, physical and virtual. Design, delivery, automation, operations and management of platform storage systems and capacity planning. Development of operating system build processes. Design, implementation and operation of end-to-end platform monitoring systems. The Lead Automation Engineer should have: 5 years experience with Windows Systems / systems support /operations support and Windows Automation Excellent Powershell scripting Knowledge of Windows DSC Strong technical leadership experience Understanding of how tasks should be automated. Creating and managing documentation. Virtualisation including Hyper-V and SCVMM. Microsoft platforms including Windows Server 2008R2/2012R2, IIS 7/8. Good understanding of TCP/IP and the OSI stack. Usage of Active Directory. Enterprise server estates including Blade systems and high-density servers. Enterprise networking including Cisco. Office 365, Amazon Web Services or Azure. (Knowledge of) Cloud platforms (IaaS/PaaS). Understanding of the use of version and source control systems. Some knowledge/experience of Linux. Working knowledge of at least one configuration management system – eg SCCM, Puppet, Chef or Ansible.
