Where we are able to design, develop and launch a growing range of medical products, devices and equipment to the UK & international markets – creating a Centre of Excellence (COE) and leading ‘In-house’ product research, design, development and production environment. The Stability Co-ordinator & Lab Technician will be responsible for A) co-ordinating all stability testing work which supports key pipeline projects at the FRC, Halifax. This includes both internal project work, while also responsible for managing the outsourcing to key external partners B) providing support services by performing technical work in the microbiology lab. What will you do? Be the primary contact and support service for the Laboratory by performing technical project work in the microbiology lab Co-ordinate all stability testing work for pipeline projects in a timely and efficient manner Ensuring all stability results and associated reports are recorded/prepared appropriately in accordance with best scientific practices Order, issue, prepare and maintain laboratory materials, supplies and associated equipment needed for testing Proactive management, co-ordination and reporting of stability testing in accordance with scientific best practices in support of pipeline projects Ensure up to date methods and procedures of preparing materials used in a microbiology laboratory and utilise latest safety practices including biohazard disposal Development into microbiological duties as and when required What will you need? BSc experience in chemistry and/or formulation science Experience in microbiology Strong experience in managing stability testing within a commercially focused FMCG and/or Medical Devices and/or fast-moving, innovative, science-based environment Ability to work in a project-based environment to deadlines Prior experience with orders, media preparation and solution, stock and inventories maintenance, microorganism stock preparation and maintenance, aseptic technique Experience operating scientific equipment such as: autoclave, analytical balance, spectrophotometer, pH meter and microscopes Ability to understand scientific programmes e.g. chemistry, microbiology and regulated categories such as medical devices Ability to deliver with accuracy, focus and ownership – and on time and to budget Demonstrates an open and collaborative style, is driven to provide the best working environment, relationships, consideration for their team and other stakeholders Benefits will include: a performance-related bonus, 25 days holiday (plus statutory), a contributory pension scheme, private medical insurance, health-cashback plan, discounted memberships.
