Collections Advisor Location: King’s Lynn, PE30 1DZ Salary: Competitive Hours of Work: 37 hours per week, 8.45 – 5.15 Monday – Thursday, 8.45- 4.45 Friday with an hour for lunch About the Company: Our client was set up in 2006 and now manages around 7,000 homes and 17 sheltered schemes in West Norfolk. They employ over 200 people and as part of the e2 consortium, they aim to build strong and sustainable communities by providing high quality affordable homes within well designed neighbourhoods. They are looking for someone to effectively manage a case load of debt by providing an efficient and effective collection service which maximises income. Collections Advisor Responsibilities: Provide a customer focused income advisory service, both face to face, in the office and in customers’ homes, and over the phone, focusing on the prevention and collection of former tenant debts, rechargeable repairs arrears, garage arrears, leaseholder service charges and other sundry debts Effectively manage a case load of debt, ensuring compliance with legislative and policy requirements, escalating cases robustly in accordance with procedure to meet corporate and team targets Take ownership of case tracing and the collation of legal case files, liaising with our Legal team on any instructions for enforcement, so that the desired outcome is achieved in accordance with the Civil Procedure Rules and Pre Action Debt Protocol Develop and maintain close working relationships with colleagues within Housing and Customer Services, Property, Property Services, Placeshaping and Finance in order to minimise the accrual of debts and improve collections Maintain comprehensive and accurate tenancy records on the appropriate corporate systems Collections Advisor Requirements: Proven experience within a customer service environment working for a housing provider or other public service organisation, including face-to-face interaction with customers Knowledge of debt collection and agencies involved in the support of vulnerable customers Minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent (graded A-C or 4-9) including English & Maths Excellent understanding of all Microsoft Office applications.
