Menzies Distribution has a temporary opportunity for an experienced Driver to join our Highland Parcels team. Our team’s mission is to deliver a world-class and time-critical final mile delivery service to our customers located across Scotland. To achieve this goal, we’re looking for someone who shares our passion. This role is mostly about driving but, it’s also about delivering excellent customer service and supporting our warehouse operation teams to deliver the impossible. When you're on the road, you will be an ambassador of Menzies Distribution. You will become the face of our Oban parcel operations, the person who gets to deliver parcels of all shapes and sizes to our customers so, it is important you have a natural flair for delivering excellent customer service. When you're not on the road, you will lend a hand when it’s needed whether that’s making sure your van is clean and presentable, supporting the safe loading and unloading of parcels from HGV’s, assisting with the movement of inbound and outbound parcels and/or support your fellow warehouse operatives to pack, scan and sort orders for delivery it will be important that you’re a team player. Your personal qualities will be every bit as important as your skills and attitude. You will be friendly, approachable, accountable and hardworking. You'll be the kind of person who'll put our customers first and do whatever it takes to deliver our promises. WHAT YOU WILL DO Scan all goods on and off your vehicle and ensure all deliveries are accurately recorded Pack and load parcels onto your van Deliver orders to customers on assigned routes Maintain ongoing communication with route dispatcher Review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs WHAT YOU NEED Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 4 years with no more than 6 penalty points No major endorsements (DR, IN, CD, TT, DD) Flexibility around working hours is mandatory Passionate about delivering great customer service Physically fit to meet the demands of a multi-drop driving role Able to adapt to working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment Comfortable working under pressure You will also need to complete a 5-year criminal background check before commencing employment HOW WE WILL REWARD YOU In addition to a competitive remuneration package and company benefits, we provide ongoing development and learning programmes, services and support designed to help you manage and balance your work/life priorities. 28 Days Annual Leave (pro-rata) Company Pension Scheme Cycle To Work Scheme Life Cover Eye Care Discounted Cinema Vouchers Free On-Site Parking INCLUSION We work in a changing world which offers great opportunities for people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
