Overview

Night Concierge - Full time & flexible working available. £9.50- £12.00 per hour. At BHC we truly believe that caring is a vocation not just a job. We understand the pressures of the role so ensure that all of our care workers are valued, respected and supported. We are currently working with a service for people aged 18 with enduring mental health needs and who need a period of intensive enablement support to prepare them to live more independently. The service operates over 24 hours a day, seven days a week including weekends and bank holidays, they cater for customers who range in age from 18 years old up to the age of 65, with a range of support needs, some of which are complex. The service provides accommodation and support for individuals whom have been assessed as requiring support to manage their mental health and their day to day living needs. The Night Concierge involves delivering a high quality and responsive night service to the service users in the community. The role is varied, not only providing an essential front-of-house presence to service users, but also carrying out health & safety checks, ensuring safety of the customers and dealing or escalating queries and complaints as they arise overnight. The service is located in Saffron Walden, Essex and consists of 8 rooms across 2 floors. There are communal facilities on site including a communal kitchen, lounge, laundry and gardens. There is also office facilities for onsite staff. Responsibilitie s: Providing a welcoming and responsive presence to customers and visitors and ensuring their safety and the safety of the building is maintained at all times Being accessible and responsive to customers' concerns and requests for information Conducting wellbeing checks on vulnerable customers, as required Liaising with and assisting emergency services, as appropriate Responding in a decisive and proactive way to customers complaints and incidents or any incidents of challenging behaviour and conflict within the service Monitoring the entry and exit of all customers and visitors to and from the service during the night, and implementation of the customer visitors policy Establish supportive and professional relationships with customers and dealing effectively with unpredictable and challenging situations in a professional and sensitive manner. Ensure our customers can thrive and achieve their potential. Requirements: Experience of providing care and/or support to vulnerable people. Possess excellent people skills. Have a passion for supporting adults with a range of mental health needs. Be able to develop and maintain good working relationships Be able to demonstrate positive personal authority.
