Stress Engineer Aerospace Permanent Gloucestershire My client is a market leading manufacturer based in Gloucestershire. Following continued success our client is now looking for a talented Senior Stress Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. As a Senior Engineer, the incumbent shall be technically focussed, and tend to specialise either professionally in areas of competence (hydraulic, mechanical, etc.) or functionally (eg design / stress) and provide professional support or analysis to the product development function. The role will entail the stress analysis of metallic structures using a broad range of standard hand and computer calculation methods. Your capability in (FEA) should range from simplified 2D to detailed 3D solid modelling, with large models, complex boundary conditions, contact and non-linear behaviour. You will be able to validate FEA models using hand calculations to demonstrate static load balance and correlation to theoretical assumptions. The successful Stress Engineer will be responsible for the following: Acts as the technical engineering focal for a programme or project with direct customer contact. Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work. Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints Directs and supports preparation of appropriate documentation (including drawings & reports) for assigned projects Provides technical leadership to a small group of temporarily assigned engineers and technicians, planning and supervising their work to accomplish specific engineering projectsDirects work assignments, scheduling, and reviews of work in progress Reviews technical feasibility of proposed solutions to engineering problems. Personally helps to solve / owns difficult technical problems. Recommends modifications to standard procedures. Liaises with specialist departments to ensure the effective operation and production of new/revised products.
