Job Specification For: Warehouse Shipping Operative Meyer Scott Ref: VR/07892 Salary -20-23k per annum DOE Huntingdon Working hours - 08.00-16.30 Approx Mon-Fri (37.5 hour week) Our client based in Huntingdon have been involved in the support of advanced composite repairs since 1981. As a leading global manufacturer and supplier of Aerospace composite repair equipment, they provide a full range of Hot Bonders, accessories, technical and training services, and materials for the repair of composite structures. They are currently looking for a warehouse and shipping operative to join their team on a temp to perm or perm basis at their current site in Huntingdon. Job Summary - Prepare tooling, equipment and materials for shipment. Complete all required documentation. Inspect and ensure that both incoming and outgoing shipments maintain quality of both the product and packaging. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following - · Prepare tooling, equipment, and materials for shipment according to shipping order · Generate sales order pick lists and packing slips · If applicable, prepare documentation for shipments to include certificates of origin, certificates of compliance, certificates of conformance, manufacturer certificates, commercial invoices, shippers declaration of dangerous goods, bills of lading, complying with IATA regulations etc. · Prepare customs documentation; prepare and electronically submit shippers export documentation as necessary · Ensure that Orders are correctly coded with appropriate shipping status and tracking numbers. · Examine outgoing shipments to ensure that shipments meet requirements of shipping order and have been properly protected against damage. · Call and Despatch freight carriers when shipments are ready ready for pick-up. · Provide freight quotations and package tracking information to Customer service/Inside sales · Perform final quality control inspection prior to shipping · Maintain and control inventory of shipping materials and supplies, and perform enquiries on inventory cycle counts · Receive products, materials , and supplies; perform receiving inspection,verify shipping contents with packing slip , and process paperwork · Process tooling, equipment and materials for staging of future shipments Minimum qualifications - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education - High school diploma and one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires basic knowledge of international shipping regulations. Computer skills - Ability to use personal computers and word processing programs and ability to type. Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to write instructions. Ability to effectively relay information one on one to delivery drivers, freight forwarding companies, colleagues and management Mathematical Skills - Ability to apply concepts of arithmetic and Algebra to convert feet to square feet and cubic feet and pounds to kilograms Physical Demands - The successful candidate must regularly twist and turn whilst holding 25 lbs and lift and move weights up to 45 lbs Health and safety - Employees are required to know and abide by all safety protocols. Employees must observe and practice safe working conditions and report any condition that does not meet safety standards. Work Areas should be kept clean and well organized. Work Environment - Drug free working environment. Some elements may be present which make conditions less desirable than usually found in an office setting.
