Overview

Weald Rise Primary School, Robin Hood Drive, Harrow Weald HA3 7DH Music Teacher MPR/UPR Part Time - 2/3 days per week (to be discussed at interview) We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic music teacher for September 2020. Weald Rise Primary School is a two-form entry school in a multicultural setting. We have worked hard to put music at the heart of our school. We are currently working in partnership with Wigmore Hall. So far, this has included music professionals collaborating with staff and pupils to create a variety of musical extravaganzas including a ‘mini opera’ based upon selected Ancient Greek myth stories. Children also performed this at Wigmore Hall. This project has also supported developing the subject knowledge and confidence of all staff. We also have strong links with Harrow Music Service and our pupils have regular opportunities to perform in ensembles across a range of instruments and our school choir regularly performs at concerts as well as to residents at the local residential care home. All children learn to play a range of instruments as part of our music curriculum and these include steel pans, ukulele, keyboard, recorder and percussion instruments.
