Welcoming our Service We have an opportunity for a Registered Manager to join our team at Stoneside Short Break Service in Glasgow. Working in residential care is both challenging and rewarding. Our aim is to give every young person we work with the support to reach their potential and support their aspirations for a positive future and this is a vital part of our work. As Registered Manager you will be working in the Stoneside Short Break Residential Service which provides a service throughout the year for children and young people with additional learning needs and challenging behaviour. The service is a fee based service operating on principles of Self Directed Support model. It is co-located with the Stoneside Residential Service in the South side of Glasgow. The expectation is that there is a joint working approach across the two services between the Registered Managers and other members of the management team. As the Registered Manager you will oversee and develop a passionate team who will improve the outcomes for children and young people. Working within the Health and Social Care Standards; My support, My life and with particular focus on the Principles within the Standards; Dignity & Respect, Compassion, Be Included, Responsive Care and Support and Wellbeing you will ensure a high quality of care is provided to all children and young people. The role To provide children with disabilities a positive and stimulating short break experience is a vital part of our work. As the Registered Manager you'll be leading the team at Stoneside Short Breaks Service. You will work alongside the Team Leader's, Business Support Officer's supported by a Children Services Manager in all aspects of service delivery to ensure children have a quality and safe experience when they stay As Registered Manager you will work with a range of professionals to ensure the children and young people you support develop to their full potential. You will liaise with a variety of local authorities who purchase the service. You will lead, inspire and motivate your team to deliver meaningful support that changes children's lives. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the culture across the service that seeks to support staff to provide high quality care. You will also have a duty to liaise closely with the Care Inspectorate and Scottish Social Services Council to ensure regulatory compliance and excellence. You will be actively supported in your role and provide you and your team with specialist training, development and supervision. Doing vital work that has a direct and lasting effect, you'll be helping some of our most vulnerable children, their families and our society. Experience in Management of a large team working towards an outcome Previous experience of working with disabled children / young people Previous experience of supporting disabled children with behavioural support needs would be an advantage Understanding and knowledge of Self Directed Support processes To be proactive and positive, with solution focussed approach The ability to use computer and IT skills Excellent communication skills Knowledge of the Health and Social Care Standards; My support, my life, GIRFEC and SHANARRI and how these apply to the work we do.
