Overview

Job Description Applications are invited from GTCS fully registered teachers An opportunity has arisen within the Extended Community Team inCambuslang for a Primary Specialist Support Teacher. Applications are invited from experienced classroom teachers who are interested in working with young people experiencing additional support needs within our primary / secondary schools. The successful candidate would be using a variety of mediums to directly support pupils as well as offering advice and support to parents, delivering training to teaching and support staff, liaising with staff from partner agencies and contributing to review / planning meetings. They will also liaise with staff from Nursery, Primary and Secondary establishments at transition points. The teacher will be part of the extended community team comprising Early Years Specialist Support teachers, Primary, Secondary Specialist Support Teachers and EAL teachers. This team is line managed by the Senior Manager Pupil Support. The successful candidate must have a breadth of teaching experience across all stages in the primary as well as a keen interest in / knowledge of secondary. He / she will be enthusiastic, approachable, experienced in working with children with additional support needs and will have an excellent working knowledge of Curriculum of Excellence and how it can be used to further enhance the learning experience of children. Requirements It is a legal requirement for any teacher teaching in a Scottish state school to be registered with GTC Scotland. General Teaching Council (Scotland) Registration Foreign Police Check Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable for any periods living or working abroad.
