Customer Support Manager Blueberry Consultants Ltd is a highly technical, innovative and professional software development company. Blueberry is looking to take on an experienced Customer Support Manager with a genuine interest in technology or IT to provide hands-on support for our varied portfolio of customers using our bespoke software systems. The work is varied, technically challenging and includes work with various systems and technologies as well as managing a team of developers and technicians. The successful candidate will have a strong background in IT / technical roles and will be looking for a new opportunity to challenge themselves in learning new technologies, systems and processes. Most of our customer systems are deployed on AWS Cloud, with a small but growing number on Azure. In most cases, systems include an SQL database. This role will include the support of systems hosted on these platforms, and hands-on interaction with multiple customer SQL databases. Position requirements: A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related subject. We will also consider applications from non-graduates. Hands-on exposure to a wide range of software technologies. Strong experience with using SQL and managing databases (e.g. SQL Server or MySQL). Ability to work personably with customers. Have a genuine interest in IT and new technologies. Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to manage a team of technical staff. Good attention to detail. Flexible and hardworking. Ability to prioritise. A team player, with an efficient and proactive approach. The successful candidate will be expected to: Manage the support team Triage of support tickets and allocation of support tickets to Project Managers / developers. Gain basic knowledge of all systems under support (potentially learn Angular.js and c#.net). Daily tracking of all outstanding tickets, ensuring work is progressing, all the internal systems are up to date and customers are updated according to SLA. Set up and maintain Virtual Machines on Amazon AWS. Set up domains and SSL certificates. Miscellaneous technical tasks, as required. The successful candidate will have considerable customer service experience in the technical context and will be able to work independently as well to “think on his/her feet”, use people skills, as he/she is often faced with situations that require decisive action. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential. We are working with many modern technologies including SQL Server,.NET C#, Gitlab, Angular etc. We develop on Windows, iOS and Android. We use Amazon AWS extensively, but also Azure. Working Culture Our company environment is informal but professional.The management structure is flat, there are no internal politics, and we strive to make our working environment as friendly and relaxed as possible. Our company environment is informal, makes strong use of email and is distributed around the Midlands. The company headquarters, where this position will be based, is currently moving into central Birmingham - although home working is a possibility. Work patterns are based around standard working weeks (Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm) with some room for flexibility as required.
