We have a great opportunity to join this vibrant busy team working as an Multi Skilled Operative, this role will be based at our fabulous new campus location working internally and externally on a variety of projects here on site in North West Cambridge. A varied role no 2 days are the same, the role will suit someone who likes working as part of a dynamic team. This new development consists of a school, nursery, community centre, offices, flats and private residential houses. The role will involve using a pole fed system your day to day tasks. If you have previous experience working within this sector as well as having a strong customer focus then this job will be perfect for you You will be working as part of a local team undertaking high standard Multi Trade repairs and refurbishment activities to commercial, residential and public buildings delivering best in class customer service and satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards. This role will involve You will have a certified core trade and complimenting this have the ability to deliver additional trade activities in support of completing repair/refurbishment works on time and to a high standard in accordance with agreed standard operating procedures. Take ownership in undertaking construction, fault finding and maintenance repairs aiming for a first time completion whilst remaining within budget and time parameters. Ensure that the customer experience is central to all activities by adopting a professional manner when communicating with service users, clients, and both internal/external stakeholders This includes but is not limited to appearance, company ID, condition of vehicles and maintaining a high standard of Health & Safety requirements. It may be necessary where requested to obtain Customer feedback on completion of works. Process all activities in association with tasks/works electronically utilising a hand held device (PDA). This includes but not limited to Worksheets, timesheets, photographic evidence of works before – during – after, van stock replenishment, booking of annual leave, vehicle inspections, safeguarding issues, risk assessments and method statements. Keep all supplied company assets in a good condition in line with the company policies and report to your Supervisor/Manager where damages occur. Utilise existing stock or collect materials as and when required to meet works order requirements, in accordance with standard operating procedures for purchasing and van stock control compliance. Attend informal and formal meetings and training sessions as required. Participate in call out cover if and when required to ensure contract compliance & service user satisfaction for emergency repairs. We are looking for qualified in a minimum of 1 trade discipline and having capabilities to undertake works from the following selection: Bricklaying, Carpentry & Joinery, Plastering, Roofing, Plumbing, Damp Proof Coursing, Tiling or Glazing Qualified/demonstrational experience in 3 or more trades from the following selection: Bricklaying, Carpentry & Joinery, Plastering, Roofing, Plumbing, Damp Proof Coursing, Tiling or Glazing Post trade qualified in each trade Essential Skills & Knowledge Good written & verbal communication skills. Numeracy skills. Able to understand & follow standard operating procedures. Able to use a PDA following training.
