Registered Nurse / Functional Assessor Salary of £38,760 pa - Monday - Friday 09.00 - 17.00 - 33 Days Holiday NMC Resourcing is currently recruiting experienced Registered Nurse 's to work with the Centre for Health and Disability Assessments (CHDA) who conducts health and disability assessments on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Although this is not a clinically hands-on role it is a highly rewarding career path that will allow successful Healthcare Professionals to enhance their Assessment and Report writing skills while working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Purpose of Post To conduct medical assessments and examinations and produce concise reports for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) as part of a successful integrated team. Main Responsibilities To undertake a combination of file-work and face-to-face assessments of customers in relation to a variety of benefits and provide a report to the DWP. File-work involves reviewing medical evidence in a written or electronic format to determine the suitability of a face-to-face assessment. Such assessments focus on how a disability affects a customer’s day to day life in performing work-related activities. These assessments may be recorded. To use IT software programs to support clinical decision making when undertaking file-work and examinations. To provide comprehensive reports to enable Decision Makers at DWP to make informed decisions regarding benefit claims. Ensure that professional practice standards and "best practice" are maintained in all areas of work. To deliver productivity and quality standards agreed between CHDA and DWP and to respond positively to feedback. To undertake recorded assessments where required. To work unsupervised and use their own initiative however know personal limitations and ask for support where necessary. To analyse and interpret clinical information and medical evidence and provide a report in a professional and concise manner. Work well as part of a multidisciplinary team and build positive working relationships with both clinical colleagues and administrative support staff. Apply professional skills and manage own professional competence and accountability, in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct. About You We are looking for a Registered Nurse, with at least 2 years’ post-registration experience to join us. You’ll have excellent observational and decision-making skills, strong report writing skills and you’ll be computer literate, as typing while assessing is a huge part of this role and will be tested at interview. Applicants must be fully registered without restriction or conditions with the NMC and have a valid PIN, plus hold a full current driving licence with access to a car. Additional Information You will go on a 3-week intensive training course (fully paid). After that, there are a further 6 weeks of on-the-job training with close mentorship and development.
