We are seeking to appoint creative teachers with vision and a passion for learning. This post represents an excellent opportunity to be innovative in developing our culture of sharing and learning. An opportunity is offered for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher to apply for the role of Teacher of English at Castle Douglas High School/ Dalry Secondary School Partnership. The successful candidate will be part of a team who will shape how English is delivered to the benefit of the pupils, their parents and the communities the schools serves. The school is at the start of a journey to being recognised as a nurturing school and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape how that nurture approach is evident within the department. The Castle Douglas High School/Dalry Secondary School partnership would like to recruit a talented and committed Teacher who will bring a great deal of enthusiasm to this role. Applicants should be confident and able to demonstrate they are an experienced and innovative practitioner. They should have a sound and detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant aspects of Curriculum for Excellence 2-18 and be able to demonstrate they have a commitment to the vision, values and core priorities in the development of education, teaching and learning which meets the needs of all pupils. The successful applicant will join a team of English teachers. They will support and be supported to deliver high quality educational experiences and contribute to the positive management of the partnership by modelling school aims and values to maximise and recognise the attainment and achievement of all of our young people. The successful applicant may be required to teach at both Castle Douglas High School and Dalry Secondary. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence, therefore, to apply if you are barred from working with children. The successful candidate would be expected to take up post on 18th August 2020.
