Overview
Customs Administrator Northampton Hours of work - Monday - Friday (12pm - 9pm or 11am - 8pm) Do you have experience working within a customs team? Do you have experience of working with European Road Operations? I am currently recruiting for a Customs Administrator based in Northampton. As part of the declaration admin team your role will be to complete customs entry requirements for European Road Operations in response to customer requests and complying to company and external authority customs legislations. This role will focus on clearances across the network export road movements and administering customs entries for ASL and charter activity with a key focus on the role assisting with the EU Exit prep. Key responsibilities when working as a Customs Administrator: Obtaining Customs Representation Authorisation forms prior to shipping Liaise with customers to request clearance instructions prior to shipping Review all customer documentation thoroughly including EORI, commodity codes, tariff information, customs procedures and other formalities Undertaking embargo checks on shipments Submitting export and transit declarations to HMRC Updating exchange rates monthly Checking accuracy of entry Ensuring compliance of standard operating procedures for customs and AEO process This role will report into Customs Supervisor and work within a customs team sharing best practise and information throughout. You will liaise also with European Network departments UK and Continental to coordinate day to day operational matter in relation to all relevant aspects of customs. Finally, internal and external customer relations, providing guidance and information on customs matters and requirements to help ensure sufficient attention to new business requirements. Experience required: Knowledge or Third country customs regulations Comprehensive knowledge of customs procedures and formalities An awareness of global geography Excellent problem solving and analysing skills High attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate verbally and written to external parties and customers
