Top performing West London local authority are currently recruiting for an Technical Officer to work in the Growth and Place Department. This role is originally a 3 month contract but is ongoing full time. This position will be starting as soon as possible. Responsibilities: To provide and deliver a high performing multi-skilled service that is resilient to ensure a high consistent standard of delivery in maintained and is recognised for innovation to the Directors. To provide a corporate comprehensive, efficient, confidential, flexible and proactive professional high-quality technical support to the department’s Officers along with a customer service focus. This post is key in working closely and collaboratively with the H&S Department and other sections such as Fire, the DLO and Compliance, working across the Council. To act at all times with the highest levels of integrity and professionalism. To act as the Council's "ambassador," ensuring the Council's reputation and public profile is exemplary at all times when interacting with those who make contact. To act as a Technical Officer in relation to the receipt and dissemination of confidential and management information whilst in pursuit of their responsibilities and in dealing with all matters relating to the work of H&S. To follow the Operating Model for support to H&S Officers and other colleagues ensuring ownership, accountability and understanding of all our customers. To proactively manage the electronic H&S inbox, making judgements about response and priority and ensuring that matters of urgency and sensitivity are dealt with without delay, and brought to the attention of the H&S Officers and colleagues in a timely manner. To undertake research/projects for the H&S Officers and colleagues and to provide detailed information, support and advice to meet the required needs. To display the adaptability and flexibility required to develop the knowledge and skills required to provide support to H&S Officers and colleagues. To be a strong ‘team player’ in support of the Business Plans, operational objectives and Performance Indicators for Growth and Place. To implement excellent organisational skills, be methodical and accurate in their approach with attention to detail and the ability to revise plans as priorities change ‘locally’ and Council wide. Qualifications: Considerable experience in the provision of wide-ranging high-quality executive support. Experience and/or qualification and/or training in project management Substantial experience and/or qualification and/or training in administration Ability to identify solutions to complex issues and to exercise strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence others in order to achieve positive outcomes, creating ownership of them among key audiences Excellent Customer Service Skills Knowledge & Experience: Managing Workload Assisting Housing Directors Self-Management Team Work Understanding about working in political and confidential environment Coordination and creativity Change Management Managing Internal and external relationships Communication Management of information Understanding of financial management Use of IT systems Ability to research Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
