Overview
CAD Technician Location: Braintree Salary: Competitive Job type: Permanent This is a key drafting and records position within the design team, assisting our Design Engineers in the digitising of Gas, Electricity and Water utility infrastructure projects. From digitising budget design to as-laid records, the CAD Technician will ensure that drawings are accurate, compliant and delivered within agreed timescales. Responsibilities of the CAD Technician: Assist the Design Engineers & Technical Coordinators in delivering gas, electricity, fibre and water infrastructure design drawings by producing AutoCAD drawings. Ensuring drawings are accurate, compliant and delivered within agreed timescales. Re-drafting of external design elements and hand sketches on to AutoCAD templates. Offer full drawing office support to Clients, Technical and Operations team. Liaise with internal Technical and Operations teams ensuring open and thorough communication channels. Provide a high, maintained level of customer service at all times to both internal and external clients. Maintain drawing record database. Requirements of the CAD Technician: Basic understanding of Gas, Electricity or Water utility infrastructure, however training would be given to the right candidate. Knowledge of 2D drafting. Knowledge of customer service and its impact on customer growth. Knowledge and awareness of continuous improvement within new and existing processes Qualified to A-level or equivalent or NVQ in a design field would be advantageous. A-C level grade in Maths and English. Auto CAD qualification would be desirable. Must be proficient with AutoCAD, with minimum experience of 1 year in a similar environment. Maintain keen attention to drawing detail. Analytical and evaluation skills Proactive and motivated approach. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Produce and develop general arrangement drawings.
