Embedded Software Technical Architect
Overview
The Opportunity Are you someone with broad software experience who has the energy to develop, drive and support the introduction of new tools and techniques into a software department where significant change is taking place? This is an opportunity for a highly motivated software architect or expert to add significant value to a broad portfolio of Embedded Software development. We work on some really fascinating products with complex Embedded Software at their centre. You will work closely with the senior team to keep us at the forefront in Embedded Software development. What are we looking for? Someone with boundless energy and a keen eye for introducing change in software teams; A software engineer and/or architect with strong interpersonal skills comfortable with driving and implementing change – in particular the further introduction of Agile, CI and DevOps techniques; Someone with a broad background in software development, ideally in the Embedded Software domain who is still a keen practitioner but mainly operates in an architecture or technical expert mode; Someone with the passion and ability to develop, motive and inspire confidence with teams drawing from their own ability; Infectious enthusiasm – able light the fire in others and generate excitement and energy for new ways of doing things What’s in it for you? The Role Operate pan project and product to improve the value of the work produced in the MBDA Embedded Software UK portfolio; Act as a mentor and coach to a team of 100 software engineers; Lead the maintenance and development of common product line items to provide reuse opportunities; Look to the future and determine development techniques, design considerations and structural implementation requirements and advise the Head of Department on the impact to the team capability; Produce and implement a V&V strategy for Embedded Software in the UK that will improve quality, engage the team and reduce the reliance on hardware availability; What’s great about the team?
