Overview
Avanti Recruitment are working with a company in the publishing sector who need a Ruby Developer to join their passionate team. They believe that access to scientific research shouldn’t cost loads of money and that society succeeds if this research can be accessed by as many people as possible. To achieve this aim they have built an open source platform that allows scientific communities to share their research and to promote the widespread collaboration of scientific research for next to free. As you can imagine the team are academic, easy going and supportive of each other and they work with leading US and UK Universities and open source projects to achieve their aims. Requirements Ruby, working in a Ruby on rails environment Desirable: Docker / Kubernetes Solr Redis They’re looking for Ruby Developer who are happy to take on a role where they will be happy to be involved in the full development lifecycle and work under the guidance of the CTO and COO. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years commercial Ruby on Rails experience and good knowledge of REST API’s. It would be a bonus if you had experience with Kubernetes and Docker but if not they will be providing some excellent training on this The dress code is casual and the atmosphere is very relaxed, it is a no pressure environment and they like to focus on good quality code rather than quantity. They are also offering flexible hours with remote working opportunities. They have recently had a huge amount of investment and are looking to grow their tech team over the following 6 months. This will allow the successful candidate to have a fast-track into a Lead Developer position so it would be ideal for someone who is looking for progression opportunities. The company are based in really nice offices in the city with an easy commute from Liverpool street station. The salary on offer for this role is up to £60,000 per annum.
