Overview
SSR are a niche wholesale broker/MGA, underwriting specialist commercial business on a delegated authority basis. All our products are distributed exclusively to insurance brokers based throughout the UK & Ireland. Our web site provides additional detail on us. Based by the water in a convenient city centre location close to Cabot Circus/Broadmead & Temple Meads we offer a vibrant work environment. Due to expansion of our underwriting team we are looking for an account handler to underwrite a portfolio of existing & new clients with potential future office based opportunities to develop new business & broker relationships. The role involves writing profitable business, managing broker relationships, providing market leading service & management information. The ideal candidate will be an energetic & enthusiastic individual & previous insurance experience with either an insurer or broker is essential & a relevant insurance qualification is desirable though we do also assist with & encourage CII qualifications. The ability to communicate confidently & effectively with placing brokers by phone, email & online with occasional face to face contact is a must. Working hours are 9 am to 5.00 pm weekdays & in addition to the salary we offer 10% non-contributory pension, local gym membership, death in service, health insurance & 21 days holiday increasing annually to 25 days plus additional long service holiday. We also pay an annual discretionary bonus dependent on individual performance & the company’s performance.
