Project Manager / Commercial Manager Midlands - Birmingham £28,000 Including company vehicle and other benefits. Our client is a long established and very successful retail construction, shopfitting, restoration and refurbishment business based in the West Midlands. They manage restoration & refurbishment, shopfitting and insurance work for high profile hotel, restaurant and retail chains across the UK, Scotland and Ireland. Due to recent success, they are experiencing a very exciting period of growth and looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager / Commercial Manager ideally with a background in Insurance claims, renovation, shopfitting, refurbishment and construction projects, to manage a multitude of small work projects for the business. The successful Project Manager / Commercial Manager must be competent in managing projects from an estimation and pricing aspect to determining and managing all resources within a similar project, in a very diverse role. The successful Project Manager / Commercial Manager must have experience in the shopfitting, restoration, renovation and construction industry and have been involved in projects from start to finish, similar to those described. Key objectives of the role To manage the costings relating to renovation and refurbishment projects, from initial calculations, quotation and completion of work Seeking to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money whilst still achieving the required standards and quality Ensure Commercial Project Work is delivered effectively, efficiently and within budgets Timely turnover of estimates based on deadlines set by high profile clients Willingness to utilise in trade experience, potential to go out on bigger projects as required Responsibilities: Prepare and analyse detailed costings for quotations Sourcing a range of building materials/site equipment and furnishings required for the project in accordance with company operating procedures Maintaining cost control throughout refurbishment projects for each aspect of site development Working to liaise with and secure the best rates and terms with suppliers Identifying commercial initiatives and opportunities with a proactive approach Identification and delivery of efficiency improvement initiatives where required Working closely with Head of Operations to ensure that budgetary targets are achieved Work with commercial technical team supervisor to develop best practice procedures for commercial technicians and contractors and ensure the efficient progression on jobs Producing and reviewing quotations for all project work within commercial department Monitoring of costs and expenditure by maintaining accurate records Managing multiple, concurrent projects at a time Skills, knowledge and experience required: Small project/repair work experience Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail Good administrative and IT skills with competency using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook/calendar Extensive knowledge of Commercial Building projects
