Factory Engineer Manufacturing
Overview
Working Hours: Monday – Friday (9am – 5pm) Salary: £35,000 per annum Purpose of the Role: To ensure all factory equipment and machinery is maintained according to all legal and BRC requirements which impact on the processes employed in the factory environments. Duties & Responsibilities: You will be responsible for the overhaul and repair of the company's range of machinery, services and equipment, ensuring all are running safely and efficiently. Plan and document maintenance programmes for all factory equipment critical to product safety, legality and quality. Inspect equipment at predetermined intervals and document any appropriate action taken to ensure there is no risk of product contamination in production. Comply with appropriate health, safety and environmental policies and procedures always. Temporary repairs to be controlled to ensure safety of product and personnel. Arrange for permanent repairs to be carried out within a practicable, defined time scale. Keep engineering workshop and equipment storage areas clean and free from risk of contamination risk to the production areas. Carry out training of production supervision and operators on the safe and correct operation of factory equipment and machinery. Commission new equipment/plant and establish risk-assessed maintenance programmes Be involved in getting to the root cause of the problem and find ways to prevent the problems happening again. Ensure all maintenance activities are recorded on the appropriate in-house computer systems. Health and Safety training compliance and the maintenance of all relevant documents. Ensuring all required risk assessments, are carried out suitably, always considering how risks could be reduced. Maintain up to date knowledge of professional Health and Safety standards and legal requirements Plan your work and agree deadlines. Provide support to project engineering and continuous improvement programmes. Skills & Experiences: Experience within the food-based manufacturing industry. Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance experience Refrigeration knowledge or willing to learn. Excellent communication skills. Competent with single and three phase electrics. Competent with pneumatics, hydraulics and plumbing. Competent welding and fabrication skills. Competent electromechanical fault-finding skills. PC, word document and spreadsheet skills. Objective Systematic approach to problem solving. Systematic and organised, self-starting work ethic.
