Overview
Riverside have a new opportunity for an Outreach Support Worker, working full time, on a permanent basis. You will earn £21,451 per annum. You will be working on a rotational shift basis. Who you’ll be helping Based in Guildford, Vaughan House offers supported housing to those who are single, homeless or at risk of homelessness. Residents may have complex support needs, such as substance abuse, mental health issues or offending behaviour. What you will be doing The Support Worker is responsible for the delivery of individual, positive outcome focused support packages to clients of Riverside’s supported schemes and ensuring that the support service promotes empowerment and independence to clients who are homeless. Day to day Your usual responsibilities as a Vaughan House Outreach Support Worker will include: • Provide a housing related support service to clients who are homeless and are in need of temporary accommodation. • Ensuring the delivery of individual personalised support packages, reflective of different client needs, including culture and diversity issues. • Supporting clients with day-to-day support and tenancy needs, liaising with landlords to find suitable accommodation. • Providing practical support and information to clients when entering the service and throughout their involvement with the service, e.g., assisting clients in the completion of welfare benefit claims. • Meeting clearly defined client outcome targets through key-working, support plans, risk assessments and other interventions. You demonstrate an optimistic, flexible and non-judgemental approach and have excellent verbal and written communication skills with individuals from a variety of different backgrounds. You are experienced in working with vulnerable client groups as well as delivering structured support in either housing or social care.
