Trainee Quantity Surveyor working for a multi-disciplinary consultancy in Sheffield - up to £21,000 Your new company Your new company is a multi-disciplinary consultancy with expertise in various aspects who due to growth/expansion are looking to add a Trainee QS into their already established team. Your new role The role is to support the QS and Cost Advisor Commissions, taking responsibility for effectively delivering a range of tasks to high quality standards. Ensuring that reasonable client objectives are met, and that service is delivered to the appropriate quality standards. Lastly assisting the QS Team Leader in delivering against their goals and objectives, including fee income targets, growth of client base, standards of service, etc. Further responsibilities understand and work towards the overall success criteria for the project, including budget and performance parameters Operate within agreed processes and systems Working to agreed QS standards for the project Assist in monitoring and advising upon project finances Assist in co-ordinating the flow of project information between the design / construction team and the client Assist in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages Specific QS duties will include assisting in some or all of the following services:- a. Cost planning, including high level cost Attendance and participation at design team meetings. Tender documentation, including Specifications / Schedules of Work, Bills of Quantities and Builder Quants. Tender reporting, including value engineering. Post-contract administration, including Valuations and Final Accounts. Attendance and participation at site meetings. General correspondence and other ad hoc services as requested by the client What you'll need to succeed My client is looking for a Trainee QS who are either currently studying their QS based degree or have recently graduated and are looking to utilise their experience.
