Overview
Role: Application Technical Lead Location: Leeds Salary:£42,000 - £45,591 flexible working from home A large Government organisation based in Leeds are looking for an Application Technical Lead to lead the specification and design of information systems and their components to meet defined business. In this role, you'll be providing specialist expertise to facilitate and execute the technical planning, technical design and development, of Collaboration components across a mix of technical platforms as well as developing and maintaining technical frameworks, technical roadmaps, policies and standards aligned to ICT Strategies and define and exploit new and existing technologies. Further responsibilities include: Investigate, analyse and exploit new and emerging technologies Solution design and implementation as part of the Project Lifecycle Solution lifecycle and embedding good practice in both technical and non-technical settings Assist on the development of and input into the relevant Domain strategy and roadmap Create reports, technical documentation, detailed design to standards Provide oversight/mentoring of the work of the Applications Development team's Lead the development of design patterns & core processes, standards and documentation Experience: Design, delivery and support of large scale document solutions based on Microsoft Office 365 collaboration stack. Enterprise Content Management including areas such as Records & Document Management and Team Sites. Technologies such as SharePoint (online / on premise) applications Evaluation & deployment of relevant, new and emerging technologies and processes Support & Interoperability of a complex enterprise environment Software development techniques - CI, continuous delivery Automation & Orchestration Integrating document management solutions with applications and cloud platforms Desirable: Large scale document management solutions and migrations Productivity tools such as low code solutions Cloud services hosting models Agile / Lean Development techniques DevOps methodologies & approaches Skills: Ability to explain the technologies and how they work to a wide range of people. Ability to manage a workload with many competing priorities Consultancy, advice & guidance Matrix managing small teams Problem Solving & Analysis Technical Specialism Technical Planning Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Technologies: Office 365 collaboration stack, Enterprise Content Management including areas such as Records & Document Management solutions. technologies such as SharePoint (online / on premise) applications ECM with SharePoint 2010/2013 Web hosting platforms (IIS Version 7 and above) Automation scripting with PowerShell and PowerShell DSC) Development toolsets MS Visual Studio, Visual Studio Core.
