Here at Chislehurst Golf Club we are looking for a Bar Supervisor to join our friendly team. We are a unique Private Members Club, situated in the heart of Chislehurst ,close to the train station. The home of the club is Camden Place, former residence of Napoleon 111. Bar Supervisor Role To ensure that the presentation of the Bars reflect the club’s standard and culture. To ensure the Bar staff reflect the club’s standards of personal presentation and act with discretion and integrity at all times, maintaining member and guest confidentiality. To welcome members and guests in a friendly and accommodating manner To strive to meet members and guests’ expectations by ensuring that beverages are served in a professional, knowledgeable, accommodating and prompt manner. To compile and retain a comprehensive understanding of all the club’s beverages. To have an understanding of the overall working to the clubhouse and to assist members and guests in these areas. To lead a positive bar team, to contribute to the smooth running of the bar and to interact with the office, golf and catering staff. To be proactive in driving sales by reviewing products, to actively present ideas to the House Manager for event related promotions to maximize sales. To ensure a welcoming atmosphere across the golf club, to make members and visitors comfortable. Assist the House Manager in reviewing expansion of the beverages. Responsibilities To be responsible for the security and safety of the bar and cellar areas. Keep the House Manager updated, noting specific requirements and assessing staffing levels. Pro-actively advise the House Manager of any requests for bar services outside standard bar hours; such advises to be communicated in writing (e-mail) as soon as requests are made. In liaison with the House Manager, recruit and retain a quality workforce both for normal periods and special events; this includes identifying casual staff requirements and organising accordingly. To work with the House Manager to create monthly and weekly staff rotas. To identify and order bar stocks from relevant suppliers on a timely basis and to accept delivery of such orders and check theses deliveries are correct. To ensure that the bars are adequately stocked and are presented in a professional manner at all times. To ensure that all beer lines and the cellars are cleaned on a weekly basis, but as required by throughput and health & safety requirements. With the House Manager meet with beverage representatives. To lead the training and monitor of all bar staff with regard to: - • Bar restocking and cleaning. • The customer experience (to include regular clearance of tables, crockery and glasses and the cleaning of surfaces). • Bar staff dress code. • Member and visitor dress code. • Conflict resolution. • Emergency procedures. • Accident procedures. • Wastage recording. • The CHIPS Bar till operating system training. • Cellar organisation (including health & safety requirements and keg changing). • The continuous cleaning and hygiene for the Bars. • Bar and table service. • Relevant product knowledge. Through this to achieve an excellent standard of service and train the Bar team to reach the highest levels of customer satisfaction. To ensure that all Bar Staff follow the current Staff Handbook. To be ultimately responsible for, cash, cheques and debit/credit card payments received over the bars and to report any shortages to the House Manager. To record all sales accurately through the CHIPS system, to optimise profitability and take appropriate action to protect the physical products. To keep stock levels and purchase in line with policy, to actively engage with the external stock taker and oversee the monthly stock take. To implement price changes as appropriate in consultation with the House Manager and to recommend changes should they appear necessary. To operate the department in a safe manner and to complete fire, health & safety reviews and to keep appropriate records in order to be operating legally. Reporting to The Bar Supervisor will report directly to the House Manager. Responsible For The Bar team comprising of both casual employees and a series of other casual/agency staff employed to cover business require ments.
