Overview

Albert's Restaurant & bar in Standish opened in June 2018. The 2-acre site comprises of a brand-new purpose built 160 cover restaurant with external dining space for 80. The bar, which has a contemporary bar menu, also has its own outside area. We have converted the old Beeches site into three events spaces, each with their own bar, which cater for every event from intimate private dining for 30 to weddings and corporate events for up to 250. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Sous Chef. A s a senior sous chef you'll work under the guidance of a Head Chef, in a busy restaurant, with guests who are accustomed to an exceptional dining experience and you'll be ready to assume control of the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence. What you'll be doing: Working with and taking directive from the head chef in the day to day running of the kitchen Take ownership of the kitchen in the absence of the head chef Prepare, cook and present food in accordance with brand standards Organising and overseeing the work of the kitchen staff and delegating and sharing tasks Maintaining high standards of cleanliness is of course essential, and you will be expected to implement our existing health and hygiene procedures Ordering, GP & Stock control Training and developing staff What you'll demonstrate: Strong passion for food and hospitality Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, train, coach, manage and motivate their team Experience of maintaining a high standard hygiene and health and safety at work Good working ability to use common computer programmes such as outlook, word and excel The ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude to all What you'll receive: Support, training & development opportunities from the moment you start 50% staff discount on food and drinks Discounted stays & dining in our hotels Regular outings & parties Incentives & rewards Daily staff meals when on shift Childcare voucher scheme This job was originally posted as www.caterer.com/job/89800690
