This is an incredibly exciting and rewarding opportunity for a barman who comes from an seasonal ingredient led background, and has a professional and positive attitude. You must be a self motivated individual who has a desire to create new cocktails each month, oversee and manage the bar operations. You will also work with Lurra's wine director to help develop the wine offering. Lurra is a Basque grill in Marylebone which has been met with critical acclaim since opening. We focus on small and large sharing dishes with a focus on top produce, much of which we source ourselves. The site seats 70 covers, benefits from lots of natural light and has a private courtyard seating. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following; A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a barman with an excellent command of the English language. Knowledge of cocktails, spirits and wines and a willingness to learn more Able to organise time effectively, forward plan and prioritise tasks to ensure work load is balanced and urgent situations are dealt with immediately. A creative mindset to create new cocktails Role: Advise guests on cocktail & wine choices Prepare cocktail orders and wine orders Maintain Bar area, stock and equipment including stock requirements / orders General bar and cleaning duties Prepare drinks during special events Promote special in house events e.g. Winemakers Dinners, Cocktail evenings Be prepared to share and teach skills to fellow bar staff Stock takes Salary / Benefits Excellent remuneration: Paid per hour with a share of the service charge.
