Instrument Engineer

Do you have an Instrumentation engineering background within the Oil & Gas industry? The role is in our E&I Engineering team where you will be working on projects and providing engineering support for our customers in the Oil & Gas and offshore wind industries. This role will provide you with a varied and interesting workload; every day will provide you with a different challenge. The ability to work offshore is a requirement for this position for the commissioning of systems or maintenance and fault finding. Key responsibilities and tasks The role requires that you ensure good management of the project with delivery on time, on budget and in the right quality and executed safely according HSE&Q policies. The tasks include Design and execution of both single and multi-discipline projects (site surveys, estimates/quoting, all aspects with in instrumentation and control project) Organise and perform day-to-day management of the project (planning, budgets, quality, resources) Must be conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards. Coordinate other members of the Engineering Team Who we are looking for Wind or oil and gas experience, preferably from an offshore background. You have a relevant professional background (degree qualified in relevant Engineering, although other experience and qualifications will be considered). We expect the ideal candidate to have the following qualities and skills: Relevant experience should be in the development of a sound knowledge of instrumentation and control engineering principles and their application to engineering projects from conceptual to detailed engineering stages. Specify modifications to existing equipment or purchase of new equipment including but not limited to: ESD & DCS/PCS F&G – Addressable & Point Systems Field Instrumentation including Pressure, Level, Temperature, Flow and Specialist Measurements Pneumatic & Hydraulic Principles SIL, High Integrity Systems Industrial Networking and Communications (advantageous) Experience with small and medium installation projects Good communication skills Fluent in English Proactive and practical approach to work Give technical guidance to others, as required. Coordinate multiple projects at the same time on own and as part of a larger multi-disciplined team Must work in line with the Company’s Quality Assurance Procedures. Must work in line with the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and policies at all times. Ensure highest levels of client service delivery at all times Carry out SAT & FATs Develop existing client base, in terms of direct contacts and also the Company’s product range. Take ownership of technical queries to ensure resolution to the satisfaction of the Project Manager. Taking a "new way of thinking" approach to problem solving. Including the ability to “think outside of the box” to go beyond the conventional and a willingness to try out different solutions. Safety has a high priority and you work proactively to reduce risks and irregularities to ensure the safety of yourself and others. Actively work with management and others to look for opportunities to improve the Company’s best practices. Ensure the engineering support provided satisfies the appropriate asset safety case and that the Prevention of Fire and Explosion, Emergency Response (PFEER) performance standards are not compromised by any engineering activity. You are mobile and willing to travel both nationally and internationally. The individual travel periods may encompass long stays and include weekends.
