PHP Developer required in Gloucestershire - Paying up to £50,000 and up to 4 days a week remote An international start-up led by one of the UK’s most successful tech entrepreneurs is looking for an enthusiastic junior content writer. We help international students find and enrol at their ideal university abroad, and we’re already working with more than 180 universities across 30 countries. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and passionate backend engineer to work in our engineering team, which include lead engineer, lead back end engineer, front end engineer, Q&A engineer. You will also be working closely with our product owner. PHP Developer - Key tasks & responsibilities: Work collaboratively along side the backend engineer team and ensure we develop and code the best product Constantly improve yourself by learning new technologies and concepts following best industry practices Take technical responsibility for your code within an engineering environment Code base is well structured, modular and efficient Lead on the overall design software architecture and implementation for API and Databases Ensure the quality of architecture and design of systems. Challenge ideas. Website development based on agreed specifications and graphical designs Understanding business needs Understanding technical roadblocks Understand how product needs to get built Liaise with lead back end engineer, lead engineer, Q&A and front end engineer. Ensure all code that goes to production is of top quality Ensure new and existing applications are scaled to meet expected demand Identify and fix gaps in system reliability, such as production monitoring Continuously improve the software infrastructure, such as the deployment process PHP Developer - Key skills & experience needed: Highly proficient with PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, HTML & CSS. Experience using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, Node. Experience using MVC frameworks - Laravel, Symfony, Zend Creating REST API’s. Ideally you will have worked with things like Git, Grunt, Gulp and Webpack. Attention to detail. You will have worked in an agile/scrum environment. PHP Developer - Desirable, but not essential: You will have worked with cloud computing (ideally AWS). Experience with Redux and React Native. TDD, BDD. Worked with remote team members when required. Experience using distributed content delivery networks. Involved with recruitment processes and hiring suitable candidates. Good understanding of SEO best practices.
