My client is a independent accountancy practice with a fantatsic reputation in the local area. Bookkeeper Job Responsibilities: Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance. Using Xero. Experience of Sage, Quickbooks and other cloud-based packages will also be advantageous Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures. Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions. Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries. Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries. Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries. Maintains historical records by filing documents. Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Keenness to develop their skillset and to work both as part of a team and under their own initiative. Assist in preparation of self-assessment income tax returns, including trading account adjustments for sole traders and partnerships Offer Permanent, full-time position One to two years’ experience in an accounting practice. Ideally either holding AAT or training towards it with at least level 3 achieved Salary £18,000 - £22,500 - the higher salary level will be for a more experienced candidate NEST automatic enrolment pension scheme 20 days holiday plus bank holidays - 2 extra days given above statutory bank holidays Additional day’s holiday for each full year of service, up to a maximum of 25 days Car park pass at municipal car park near to office Support for study may be considered
