Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Electro Mechanical Maintenance Engineer required for a leading manufacturer of sheet metal components using furnaces and heat treatment machinery. Based in the Tipton area, the successful candidate will attend in-house breakdowns and carry out pre planned maintenance. After reaching full competency, this position has an 'on-call' requirement on a rotational basis - receiving a company van for commuting purposes. The successful engineer will be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 2 / Apprenticeship Served in an engineering field of study. Although not essential, it would be advantageous to have held a Maintenance Engineer position before with a strong practical understanding of electrical/mechanical engineering. Electro Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Position Overview Attend in-house machine breakdowns and carry out pre-planned maintenance. Upon passing competency tests (which will take 2-3 months from start date) the successful candidate will be on call for overnight breakdowns due to 24 hour operation. These are done on a rotational basis with other engineers. All tools are supplied by the employer. From this point onwards the successful candidate will be supplied a company van. Use diagnostic equipment to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults. Minimise equipment downtime by carrying out preventative maintenance. Electro Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Position Requirements Previous experience within a maintenance engineering position would be advantageous. Strong mechanical and electrical background and/or understanding. Previous experience with conveyor systems, furnaces, heat treatment machines or similar would be a strong advantage. NVQ Level 2 qualified or apprenticeship served in an engineering field of industry. Effective communication skills Full (clean) UK driving license. Electro Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Position Remuneration £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience Overtime and shift allowances.
