Role: Process Safety Consultant Location: Warrington Type: Full-time, permanent The RPS Process Safety team are seeking to grow our business and employ an additional experienced Safety Consultant to join our Warrington office at a senior level. RPS has been a leading provider of specialist safety and risk consultancy services to the UK sector (civil and defence) for over 30 years. Our principal area of expertise is in support of safety case development and preparation. We support the whole plant or project lifecycle from design and construction, through operations and decommissioning. As a Process Safety Consultant for RPS you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse number of projects with varying responsibility. All successful candidates will have to complete security clearance. Duties / Responsibilities: Leading the delivery of safety projects in a range of high-risk industries, ensuring they are completed on budget and to the client’s satisfaction. Leading hazard study workshops including: HAZOP/HAZID/ALARP/LOPA/FMEA. Leading delivery of COMAH Safety Reports and conducting formal safety assessments such as quantitative risk assessments and occupied building risk assessments. Leading the development of Process Safety Management Systems. Leading on consequence and risk modelling. Providing technical guidance and mentoring for more junior team members. Managing teams of consultants to support project delivery Recognising opportunities for business and service development Leading in business and service development to help grow the business Maintaining and developing lasting relationships and frameworks with clients. Preferred Qualifications: A degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Chartered Engineer A minimum of 15 years post-graduate relevant experience. Essential Skills: Highly skilled in process safety techniques, e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, QRA, LOPA, COMAH safety. Self-motivated team player with good people and leadership skills. Excellent customer service manner with strong listening and interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in MS Word and Excel. Excellent technical report writing skills. Excellent numeracy skills. Excellent time management. Excellent attention to detail. A permanent UK resident. In depth knowledge of relevant UK regulations and standards and be able to apply them. Knowledge of other regulatory regimes Flexibility and willing to travel.
