Electrical / Acoustic / Signal Processing Test Engineer (Matlab, Surgical) Oxford £Neg Our highly innovative medical devices client is developing a novel minimally invasive surgical procedure which will meet a major unmet need. As the company continues to grow they have a superb opportunity for a talented and ambitious Medical Technology Engineer responsible for contributing to the experimental development and validation and verification of the technology. Responsibilities System prototyping, validation, testing, proof of concept and component performance The timeline for the company is to develop a functioning product prototype ready in late 2020 · System and safety testing and validation for both acoustic and electronic systems. · Perform experiments, process and analyse data, document and report on the results of pre-clinical drug delivery testing internally. · Program and optimize the ultrasound controller unit · Maintain regulatory documentation efforts for the design history file and technical file. Ultrasound platform hardware and software development · Contribute to the Technical Team effort to deliver an approved ultrasound hardware device platform for clinical trial and subsequent CE marking. · Contribute to the ultrasound system software development process. · Team resource and project planning · Propose and conduct experiments to evaluate and validate system performance and safety Additional duties · The role will involve hands on testing in an ultrasound lab using electronics equipment to support rapid product development and testing. Skills & Experience · At least a solid knowledge in one of the following fields: (required) o Acoustic (preferred), Electrical or Signal processing engineering · Software skills o Matlab or equivalent (required) o Comfortable with mathematical concept such as Fourier transform and complex number (this will be tested) Personal o Able to communicate concepts or ideas in a simple way (required) o Able to work in a multidisciplinary laboratory environment o Experience in a medical device regulatory environment to ISO13485 (desirable) o Operate in a small, rapidly moving company environment o Flexible approach and perform tasks outside of the job description. o Be able to operate as a self-starter in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment. o Work positively and effectively as a strong team player in a multi-disciplinary team. o Show strong communication and organizational skills o Manage a wide range of projects simultaneously. o Strong communication skills in written and verbal English · Note you should be aware that this role will involve surgical device engineering, biological tissue experiments and live animal experiments as the team works towards human clinical trials.
