HR Manager - Full Time - CIPD Level 5 Southampton | £33,000 - £36,000 Full Time - Permanent Our client, a specialist food service provider based in Southampton, is looking for an HR Manager to provide an efficient, high quality, general day to day HR support service while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and in line with best practice. Reporting to the Finance Director you will be responsible for designing and implementing a strong HR strategy to ensure staff are well managed and motivated to excel at their roles. Role and Key Responsibilities : Define and implement an annual HR action plan in line with the business strategy Provide high quality, tailored HR support and advice in a timely manner to managers and staff Streamline and improve internal HR policies, processes and documents Ensure the correct HR procedures are followed at all times to minimise the risk of employee claims Provide advice to managers in relation to employee performance, conduct and absence management issues Assist with disciplinary and grievance matters as necessary Ensure contracts of employment and other employee documents are compliant and issued in a timely manner Ensure accurate records and personnel files are maintained in line with GDPR Be actively involved in recruitment by assisting with the preparation of job descriptions, posting advertisements and managing the hiring process including interviewing Work with managers to understand training needs and coordinate and administer training and development programmes and liaise with external training bodies as required Support the business in ensuring salary levels and benefits are appropriate and motivational Key Competencies and Requirements: CIPD Level 5 qualified Experience of working in a generalist HR environment ideally at managerial level Experience of supporting managers across a variety of departments at different levels in all aspects of HR and training Up to date working employment law knowledge A self starter who is able to work on their own initiative Ability to build strong effective working relationships, dealing with complaints, problems and resolving disagreements Excellent written and verbal communication skills Effective organisation and project management skills This role is a full-time role working 40 hours per week over 5 days and will include the requirement to work 1 - 2 nights per month from 4.00pm to approximately 12.30am to enable some interaction with, and support to, the nightshift workers.
