Category Manager

Our client are a mission-led organisation delivering excellence in education around the globe through publishing. The Group Procurement function provides world-class expertise to the company in the areas of Direct, Technology and Indirect procurement, through the application of sourcing, category management, and supplier management tools and techniques. They are now seeking a Category Manager to join their Indirect's team at a very exciting time. Indirect's is a relatively new area of focus at a Global level, so this new team is looking for someone to bring experience, enthusiasm and energy to help accelerate engagement from a broad spectrum of internal stakeholders and external suppliers across multiple markets. We are continually developing our focus on supplier relationship management to optimise contractual agreements and make our client a customer of choice, so the ability to juggle collaborative working with the right commercial proposition for the business is a core part of what we do. And with so much opportunity ahead of us, we are a team working at pace in a changing environment, so need a Category Manager that can adapt and deliver quickly. Key activity will include: Internal stakeholder management; Development and delivery of category strategies that deliver value, service and operational benefits; Supplier relationship management on a global scale; Procurement project management. You will be a confident communicator with the ability to develop new, innovative ideas to challenges that may arise. You will also: Have significant experience within Indirects Procurement, ideally on a Global scale and across multiple category areas; and Be commercially minded with a focus on long term, sustainable delivery Have specialist expertise in long-term supplier relationship management, negotiation and sourcing; Demonstrate an agile and flexible approach, able to handle a variety of complex projects simultaneously and with appropriate pace; Ability to handle a variety of complex projects simultaneously and at pace.
