Hotel General Manager

Job title: Hotel General Manager Salary: Up to 40,000 GBP Location: Windermere, Cumbria Type of contract: Permanent Workplace description: This family-run Lake District hotel has an indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room, picturesque gardens and free parking. Free WiFi is available in the downstairs public areas and the bedrooms. The hotel has an elevated position and a terrace with stunning views towards Lake Windermere and the mountains beyond. Some rooms also have views towards the lake and mountains. There is also a guest lounge with a log fire and lake views. The bar and grill offers high-quality local produce and homemade dishes. Main duties and responsibilities: We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter to manage the day to day leadership and the strategic direction of the hotel, maximising sales and revenue and driving financial returns. You will lead in the development of the teams in all our departments, create a safe and effective working environment, ensure standards are maintained and build and promote awareness of the business and the brand. Essential criteria: Y ou must have had substantial experience of managing a similar size hotel where you were recruiting, training and managing teams across all the key departments within the hospitality sector. The role is demanding and hands on and requires complete flexibility of hours and some night phone duty cover.
