Overview

Job Title: Finance Manager Salary : £30k - £40k per annum depending on experience Location: Brighton Our client based in Brighton is looking to recruit a Finance Manager to help support a rapidly growing digital advertising agency. Demonstrated competency communicating with a variety of audiences, including upper management. Strong business acumen, good judgment, objectivity, and policy management are key attributes necessary for success in this role. Responsibilities Process enquiries from sales & sales support teams in a timely and professional manner Financial planning, analysis and forecasting Preparation of monthly management accounts reports Prepare financial statements, financial reporting and management information including profit and loss account, balance sheet and cashflow forecast and provide insightful variance analysis and commentary Prepare payment run Analyse financial position, including actual and budgeted/forecast data Quarterly VAT Returns and compliance Fixed Asset Register, Journals, Prepayments, Accruals and Fixed Assets, bank returns & reconciliations Regulatory tasks including the annual regulatory reporting process, year-end audit queries and ad-hoc projects Process payroll, including time sheets, mileage claims, expenses (monthly) Prepare and analyse commissionable margin for payroll purposes (monthly) Petty Cash processing and reconciliation Ensure relevant policy and procedural documents are up to date whilst confirming internal financial controls in place are operating effectively Manage debtors process effectively, ensuring all monies are collected and discrepancies are managed to reduce the possibility of write offs and bad debt Plan, review and ensure the efficiency of the team is maximised at all times Requirements Competent accountancy professional who is likely to have similar experience in a previous role, preferably within an SME environment Commercially aware with a keen interest in supporting sales team and process improvement Solid management accounting, forecasting and operational reporting experience Highly proficient in Sage 50 and Excel Excellent communication skills both oral and written with the ability to articulate an opinion effectively Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work cross functionally and interact confidently with multiple stakeholders Robust and resilient in approach - the confidence to challenge 'push back' when required An enquiring mind with a logical approach to work, combined with numeracy, analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time and people management skills with the ability to work calmly and methodically under pressure Keen eye for detail, places great importance on accuracy and attention to detail Proactive in approach with a flexible attitude A self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Team player - understands the importance of collaborative working.
